Strangely, out of all the ppl I have known to die, I've only attended a few funerals mainly because I was so far away most of the time. Two times with my grandfather and decades later with my father in Mississippi, the weather prevented travel.
1. My Great Aunt died when I happened to be passing thru Mississippi on leave. I was a pallbearer.
2. My stepfather - I travelled from Florida to Missouri, putting on my dress clothes in the back of the car on the way from the bus station to the funeral.
3. My wife was cremated and had a memorial service
4. A client where I worked died we all went to his funeral and I drove one of the vans.
