I am not impressed. Also, this is just a minor point but the Wizard didn't come from Kansas, he came from Nebraska.

Well the Wizard is one man who while he was an important character in the Oz stories, NEVER had his own book written about him. His backstory is a small one and he didn't really become interesting until Glinda made him a fully fledged wizard instead of a tricking humbug like Dorothy and the others first knew him to be.
Long story short, there's very little known about the Wizard's past except that he IS from Nebraska, but since there's not much to be found on his history in the Oz books I guess Disney decided not to even bother with that most minor detail either.
