Re: Funnel cake
I'll nibble on a few pieces when my wife gets it at the county fair or on the boardwalk but it has to be hot (fresh). That stuff just doesn't work as leftovers.

Most definitely. And it doesn't need all that extra stuff on top either. Just some powdered sugar and cinnamon and funnel cake is orgasmic. Sometimes I get strawberries and whipped cream on top, but not too much.

Re: Funnel cake
I FINALLY had it at our church carnival this year. It wasn't bad. It kind of reminds me of something my family has made at Christmas for years (well, distant family, and now immediate. lol), fried dough. It's a bit thinner/crunchier/dessertier (yes, I coined a word. Deal with it.), but not entirely dissimilar. I liked it. Fried dough is better, but funnel cake ain't bad. Problem is that most places where you get it are always overpriced on anything, so good luck not overpaying for it.

That's because it's not "cake". It's fried dough.

Re: Funnel cake
I would take elephant ears over funnel cake, even though it's basically the same thing.
