Just watched the DVD last nite. This is a delightful movie directed by the Weitz brothers and staring Hugh Grant.
It is a drama-comedy about a self-absorbed man of leisure (Grant) who’s only motivation is to shag women and it shows his conniving exploits, posing as a single parent to pick up on other single mothers.
His target woman introduces him to her friend’s 12-year-old boy, (Nicholas Hoult) whose mother (Toni Collette) is a flake and who latches onto him as a friend. It goes on to show how these two damaged ppl help each other become better adjusted. It has humorous voice over by Grant and Hoult showing the honest thot behind their confused or deceptive front.
I really liked this movie, very British and totally relatable to me.
(When I was in my 30s in New Orleans I acquired an 11-year-old boy and for half a year was a surrogate parent raising this kid)
