If somebody asks if you slept well the night before, what's your usual answer?

My answer is pretty much, without fail, FINE. And my brother always asks how *I* can sleep fine when nobody else can, and my mother figured it out. He asked how I can sleep all night so well, and she answered 'she doesn't, she goes to sleep at 3 or 4 in the morning, she doesn't sleep all night', and this is true, lately I've been averaging in bed at 3 in the morning, and out of bed around 7:30, presentable by 8. That said, yes, I sleep fine for the little that I do, if I had to sleep for a whole night I probably wouldn't.

As long as your sleep schedule is cool with your work schedule, then it's nobody's bees wax how you sleep.

I function well on 5 to 6 hours a night. Old people don't need as much sleep as young ones.

It really irritates me when all these 'studies' set a standard of 7-8 hours for adequate sleep. If I stay in bed for 7 hours my back actually hurts.

On work days I go to bed at midnight and my alarm is set for 6 but I often wake up before it goes off. Six hours is optimum and 5 sufficient for me to have a good nights sleep. Occasionally, if I haven't had that for a day or so I will sleep in for 7 hours on my days off work.

My sleeping habits have been terrible ever since the baby came. I got so used to having to get up, or stay up, with him that when he finally started sleeping through the night, I continued to wake up at around the times he usually did, and going back to sleep is sometimes hard.

I will never be a morning person. My body will never be wired to get up before 9 am so my sleep pattern is always disrupted.....no matter how early I go to bed. Once I'm up....I'm fine...but I can't be still or I might fall asleep.

The question hardly ever gets asked. I find I do sleep better if I remember to use ear plugs.

I say whatever works for the person, then go for it, but for me personally I've always been a very long sleeper, needing 9-10 hours per night most nights.

I feel awful if I sleep too much. 5 is usually a good number & about average for me. Sometimes I'll sleep in on weekends. Just depends on how much sleep I got during the week which CAN be next to nothing or if I have anything to do during the weekend.

I go through stages from sleeping the night through to waking up 1 or 2 times during the night.
