NEVER say mean things out loud!

Today we went out for breakfast then went to the little mall having a craft sale in the corridor because there was something I was looking for. As we entered, we all three remembered at the same time a moto family we know usually is there to sell their stuff for the holiday craft sale. They live about 100 miles from here.

Anyway, we did see their booth and I saw the wife of the family and asked Jay if he wanted to say hi to her or not, and he said, "Nah." Then my dumb ass said, "Me either, I could care less about that stupid shit they sell and don't want to feel like I should buy something."

THEN THIS:

"Blown glass ornaments are not your thing?" That was said by the husband of the family who was RIGHT BEHIND US.

I am a jerk. And an idiot.

However, I am stellar at recovery. I said, "Uh, no not at all and as I am browsing the booths I see how nice all this stuff is but know I wouldn't display it because I hate to dust."

OK, so not stellar, but better than anything else that came to mind.

Yep! NEVER say mean things out loud. (Until checking for all within earshot)

You paid a little tuition for that life lesson.

Did he buy your recovery even if you didn't buy any fellated glass? (Lucky glass!)

That's what I wish my brother would learn, when the windows are down in the car is NOT the time to be mouthing off about the other idiots on the road even if it is true.

Yeah because some of them are armed. But at least if they're armed with a knife instead of a gun, you have a better chance of out running the knife. Just saying.

Jeff Foxworthy had a similar experience once with his mother. She is partially deaf and you can tell she has hearing aids because she never wears them. They were in line for a movie once and she jabs him and says "DON'T LOOK NOW, BUT THE GUY BEHIND US IS CROSS EYED AS A BAT!"
