The Real World

I am way too old (33) to watch this show. But I do, and probably always will! But I have been tired of seeing clubbing and drunk moments all the time in recent installments of this series.

Now, this season, I like. I think that most of it is interesting/entertaining. I was being judgemental when they showed Mike at work a couple episodes ago. I thought, "they took the time to introduce us to his work place, and will probably never touch on it again." So, I was pleased when they did go back to that last week when his family visited. And it was awesome to see how his mom was during the visit. But I did wonder why it took her visiting him in a neutral city for her to be so understanding. Yeah, she had a light bulb moment, but why had that not come earlier, at home? Well, at least it happened. I really enjoyed seeing how things went for them.

How far into the current season is it now? Admittedly I haven't watched TRW full time since the season where the one gay housemate was dating the guy in the Army. I LOVED the show when I was a pre-teen/teen, but I guess it's a bit alienating to see the show still display that 18-25 y/o bracket now that I've aged past it. The current batch of cast members were probably still in diapers when the first season with Eric & Julie aired back in 1992. LOL

I think mine was season 2, with John, Tammy, David, Dominic, Beth, Aaron, etc., etc.

The frigidness in the air between them was hysterically cold. They REALLY didn't like each other.

Early 20's kids were not in diapers in 1992!!!!!!! I just had to say that because I feel old enough as it is!! LOL

Mine will always be from 1994, San Francisco. Pedro was great, and Puck was a hoot. And Pam and Jed (? may have his name wrong) eventually got married!

Melissa got married to a guy who was on Road Rules. And they live in Hayward, WI, where he practices law. I know people in Hayward, and she is a real bitch in the community, I guess. She was low profile until she was in consideration to replace someone on the View. Then she got really awfully bitchy and raised a lot of ruckus in the little community.

Which RW house is the coolest.

I am going with this one. I love it and am ever amazed at that coin wall thing in the kitchen. Awesome.

I think nothing beats the original season, but aside from that I liked Miami with Dan and Flora, and Back to New York with Mike, Coral and Nicole. The last season I watched was the one with Davis and Tyree and their fallout. I really wish that they'd bring the show to Michigan. I know Detroit's not what it used to be, but there are plenty of surrounding suburbs to set up base.

Anyone watch the season premiere last night?

I haven't watched RW since the Back to New York cast with Mike, Coral and that guy with the big afro.

I watched it today. I think this season looks pretty good...well "good" by the low standards that recent seasons have set. Ryan is going to be interesting, I think. But he does seem more like a plant than an actual for real guy. And not because he is sensitive, but because he is in people's faces from the word go.

since we talkin bout real world, my fave seasons are 1st new york, LA, back to new york, and prolly denver... my ultimate fave is Miami tho
