HomeHave any of you ever gotten a flu shot? I have never had one myself, but my job is offering them through an arrangement with Walgreens. Some people say they aren't safe, others say they aren't necessary. I probably fall into that latter category.

I used to and I still got sick. I don't see a lot of merit in them, for me personally.

I've never had one, and I don't consider myself any worse for the wear. So we get the flu, well when it's that season, everybody we know, even the ones who get the precious shots, are all sick as dogs with it. There doesn't seem to be any way to get around it.

Maybe just luck for both of us, but I don't have any ill effects of the vaccine and my health plan pays for it, so couldn't hurt, right?

Never had one. I think flu shots are generally a waste of time. I might get a bad head cold or flu once a winter, but I deal with it.

Reminds me of last year when we were all swept up in the swine flu hysteria. Everybody making it a big deal like 'get this shot or you will die from the swine flu', and most people who actually HAD it were saying yeah you feel like crap, but you survive, and we got it, and we felt like crap, and we survived. And what happened? Their precious swine flu vaccinations everybody was sitting on their hands waiting for, because they just HAD to have them, by the time the riot died down, they were left with THOUSANDS of unused vaccinations that had expired because nobody wanted them.

I've never gotten a flu shot. I hate shots. Frankly, I'd rather be sick for a week in bed then get a shot that takes three seconds. Maybe that's not logical, but that's the reason.

Never had one, pretty much not going to get one. I really don't get sick. Last time I had the flu was more than 4 and a half years ago. Last time I had the flu was 7 years before that. Last time I had the flu was 7 years before that.

I am mandated by my job to get the flu shot....I've never gotten the flu and I've never gotten sick from the shot.

I've gotten them a few times in my life, can't say for sure if they work or not. I've gotten sick a lot and I lose track of whether or not I got a shot that year.
