    Movies are now $5 (plus tax) to rent, with a $1 fee for every day it's late. That's not even the craziest part. Get this...if you are over 10 days late, Blockbuster now has the right to force the customer to purchase the movie outright for whatever price they decide.

    That is not shocking to me....Redbox is the new way of getting movies at a cheap fee, unitl something messes that up...

    If this is their way of combating the downloading/streaming trend, then I don't get it. Blockbusters all across the country are biting the dust. I shouldn't complain, though, I haven't rented a movie for almost 10 years. Not since before the death of the VCR.

    I would imagine that the video rental business is suffering worse than the music retailers.
    The Internet has virtually killed physical media.

    It is. Blockbusters across the country have been shutting down in bulk for the last 3-5 years. And the independent video stores (that once had a leg up just because they carried porn) are just about extinct.

    I didn't know people still did the whole video store thing anyway. Blockbuster for movies is as dated as MTV for videos. I'll stick with Netflix.
