Overrated Sweets and Desserts

Coconut Cream Pie isn't all that great. It's way too soggy.

Well, everyone has their own likes, but I think pumpkin pie is overrated. A lot of people do not like it, yet it is a turkey day staple.

I agree....pumpkin pie isn't anything to come back for seconds of. I also hate Vanilla wafers.

I hate anything with coconut, especially coconut custard pie. Most people in my family love it but I cringe when I see it. Maybe I don't like it because when I was a kid, my brother smashed a whole one in my face and it went up my nose and I was not very happy.

Pumpkin Pie is hideous. Every Thanksgiving I get one & every time I ask myself why. I think we're just conditioned to do it.

Oh, fruitcake. Fruitcake is the worst thing ever created.

They do make good doorstops though.

I would agree about coconut - I don't really care for it and am not really a fan of anything with coconut in it. I also agree about fruitcake - have never liked it and I doubt I ever will.

Anything with nuts.

Ha....true. My dad's job that he got after retirement is working the town's recycling spot. He gets about 10 fruit cakes per year as thank you gifts...no thank you.

Yeah - it seems like fruitcakes are more punishment then thank you - lol! I know some people must like them, but I haven't found many.

I LOVE fruitcake, NOT the bouncy doorstops you get from the store, I found a great recipe online called white fruit cake, MMMMMMM, you soak the candy fruit in orange juice all night and probably the real reason this is so good is because I only use the candy fruit and a few raisins, no nuts, no currants, no orange peel. Okay, overrated desserts:

Custard pie, custard is NOT sweet, not really, once in a while, okay, but most of the time, bleah.
Chocolate pie, hate chocolate pie, never any good, always bitter and the crust is so Crisco-like.
Vanilla wafers
The little wafer stick cookies, seriously, does anybody like these?
Any candy bar with nuts in it
The cherry cordials, you know, those chocolate covered cherries with a middle layer of some kind of red syrup or something in it. Tooooooooooooo sweet, I make my own, drain maraschinos and dip them in melted chocolate bark, yum yum.
Peanut brittle. Yay , break your teeth and it comes with nuts.
Candy apples with nuts, what sadist could possibly like these things?

Only on rare occasions can I tolerate blueberry pie, most of the time it's nasty to me. Not really a fan of apple pie either. Also whip cream is an overrated add-on IMO.

Oh yes, sometimes I like blueberries in things but they do NOT like me at all. But I LOVE whipped cream, I use tons of Cool Whip on pumpkin pie, ONLY way to eat it, and strawberry short cake, yuuuuuuuum yuuuuuuuum.

Not a big fan of rice pudding, graham crackers or sugar cookies.

It depends on how it's made. If it's runny, then it's nasty (but that's all pies). If everything is properly baked and centered, then blueberry pie can be delicious.

I don't like graham crackers too. Not too long ago I tried to eat a pack of them with milk....called myself dunking them, and within 2 seconds, the shit broke off in the cup.

Candy corn, cotton candy and funnel cake.

Any kind of "pineapple" or "pineapple upside down" cake is just tacky foolishness to me.

I'm not at all fond of carrot cake, and I usually pass on pecan pie.

Depending on who's making it, banana pudding can be entirely too sweet.

I agree that Carrot Cake is really lame but I love Pecan Pie!
