As much of a cult (and mainstream) classic it is, I've never seen the movie. It always seemed too freaky and worse too silly to me. Is it a good movie?

Have you at least heard the soundtrack? I used to go to midnight shows. We never dressed up but we did participate. It wasn't until I got it on VHS and could watch it without a theater full of people yelling at the screen that I could finally understand all the dialog. Check it out...you could do worse.
