My phone is off right now, but that's only because it's charging and you save battery life if you turn it off while it charges. Otherwise I never turn it off completely.

Only when it's charging. I typically just put it on vibrate rather than turn it off unless it a place where it might interfere with the equipment. It's almost always on.

I hardly ever turn mine off completely either. Only when I'm somewhere that you shouldn't have your phone ringing.

I rarely turn it all the way off, but I usually keep it on vibrate, because my job frowns on cellphone usage.

The fone sitting on my desk, tied to the wall with a wire is on all the time - even when I'm not around and has a little companion wired in who takes my calls for me.
I do own a cell fone, bot for my convenience to make calls or receive calls when I expect them. It is in my courier bag, turned off almost all the time.
I suppose I don't find it necessary to ALWAYS have a fone to my ear because I lived quite well for decades without cell fones.
