Comfort zones

How often do you get out of yours? I hardly ever do. I was pretty dismayed this weekend when I realized how anti-leaving our comfort zone my husband and I have become. As he dropped me off at the hotel, we were trying to park, and we couldn't figure out the parking thing. We couldn't figure out if the sign was saying we could or couldn't park, then we didn't know how to work the machine, then we didn't know where the machine was for...It was ridiculous and when my husband exclaimed "I HATE SEATTLE" I had this awful image of us becoming his parents. I right then was like "JOSH! We can NOT turn into your parents!"

That's one of the reasons I started a video journal of myself singing and playing because I am not comfortable with that, but I want to get better and I know I wont practice if I don't make myself and I don't WANT to be so "always in my comfort zone". I want to take risks and learn and grow and I feel like that's pretty impossible as long as I let my anxiety get the better of me.

i hardly step out of my comfort zone as well, but that doesnt bother me, i like being comfortable

I'm a Taurus, if I get too comfortable I'm going to get really lazy I'm afraid. Plus, I get bored.

Hmmm, I don't think I know any cancers in real life any more. I used to know one though. I'm TOTALLY a Taurus.

I like my comfort zone too. I like familiarity. Even if it sounds fun or interesting....sometimes you gotta pull me there.

That's how my husband is too, but he also appreciates that I DO pull him along...I took him to see Beck, I take him on road trips to places that he has never been, I took him to see "Last Comic Standing" on tour and to the EMP and Science Fiction Museum...I try to think up things that we've never done that he would like.

BUUUUUUUT, sometimes it doesn't work out that great and that sucks because then I feel totally responsible.

Like when we had the twins, I was like "lets have another baby! Shepherd needs a buddy!" and then he was like "What if we had twins? Then what would we do???" and I said "That would NEVER happen" and rolled my eyes. Then 6 weeks later I was like "Um, if we see two babies on the ultrasound next week, you can NOT freak out"...

Then I felt TOTALLY guilty about leading him astray...

I dont venture out my comfy zone by myself, mostly cause i don't think to. I need motivation.

I don't very often but know I need to do it. It's hard to break away.

I hate those new parking machines too. Never used one yet - actually left a place while in a car because that was all that was available. Came back later on my bike.

I have travelled to St. Louis by way of Wash DC & Chicago by train several times. I am used to the same trip and was going to do it again next week. Yesterday got a call from Amtrak - working on the track between Chicago and St. Louis so they would have bused me in late at night. So, I cancelled the train from Washington and am now taking the bus on a different route.

Kinda looking forward to a new trip, but I never would have elected to do it. (I prefer traveling on the train - much more comfortable).

For the most part, I stick to my comfort zone but will occasionally step out of it.

Must be a 'Taurus' thing, because I'm the same way. I actually get bored very easily, and am naturally curious; so it's my comfort zone to step out of what I'm used to. If I decide I don't like it, then hey, I don't have to do it again.
