How much crap do you typically find in your spam catcher or worse, your in-box? How many trees have died so your mailman can deliver the equivalent to your mail box? Every now and then I'll hit the link to take me off their e-mail list but usually I just hit the delete button. The most I've done to cut down on the snail-spam is to call the 800 number on one of the pre-approved credit card come ons to take me off the list. I think that works for all the banks. That has helped.

Re: Spam and junk mail
Alot and "reporting spam" never seems to fight the problem. I still get about 5 or 6 junk emails a day.

Re: Spam and junk mail
My spam filter is useless too Robbie. I get inundated with junk mail on Gmail, and I don't know why. I don't remember signing up for anything. I click 'report spam,' and all it does it archive it, it doesn't stop anything.

Re: Spam and junk mail
My spam filter is pretty good or I would be flooded with e-mail junk. At home I get a lot of junk mail so much that I don't even have to open them up to see what it is, they just go to the trash. I do like to play a little game with some of the snail spam, if they come with pre paid postage envelopes what I do is line them up A B C D E F etc.and send F to A, E to B, D to C, etc. so this way they have to pay postage on something that is not even related to their company. I always make sure my name is nowhere on what I send out. I know its dumb but what the hell.

Re: Spam and junk mail
I very rarely EVER get junk emails, but all the same I do have to wonder how these are supposed to work because if I don't recognize the name there is no way in hell I'm opening it and they're never anything I recognize.

Same here. I dunno, I think maybe my comp has a chip in it or something because the minute I see something that I know is spam or something I never signed up to receive e-mails from, I automatically delete it. I don't even bother reading it. Maybe my e-mail host or whatever picks up on that so I rarely get junk mail.
