Who is this boy?

Investigators in Maine continue to ask this question two days after discovering the body of an unidentified four- or five-year-old boy on the side of a rural road.

Authorities have received more than 100 tips about the child, but Maine State Police Lt. Brian McDonough told ABC News that his agency is no closer to to identifying the boy than they were when they found the child under a blanket on a remote road in South Berwick at around 5 p.m. on Saturday.

"Somebody has got to miss this child. He's a nephew of somebody, a son or grandson of somebody. ... It's just been very, very frustrating that we haven't gotten any leads, significant leads, in identifying this child," McDonough said.

Police say the child's death is suspicious.

The boy is described as having short, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. According to police, the child is about three feet, eight inches, weighs 45 pounds and still has his baby teeth.

He was found wearing a gray camouflage hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and a dark blue short-sleeved shirt featuring the words "Aviator Series,"

Making matters more complicated, no child matching that description has been reported missing in Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts.

Maine State Police have released a computer generated image of the boy, hoping someone will recognize the child.

Authorities are currently investigating reports from witnesses who spotted a woman driving a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with an extended cab and a covered bed near the site where the body was discovered on Saturday morning.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the child or the pickup truck to call Maine State Police at (207) 657-3030.

What makes it so sad is that the article makes it sound like no one is missing him or cares.

It will probably turn out that the person who should have reported him missing is the one who put him there.

I think the parents did it. Oh, and this story broke the day my parents left for a Maine vacation. Awwwkward.

So sad and scary.

Maybe nobody is reporting him missing because they either did it and/or are dead too.

A child's death is always very sad. After two days and no one has reported the kid missing? The more attention this gets, the more likely a neighbor will mention to police that they haven't noticed little Jimmy playing in the yard for a while.

It's always just a little more sadder when the victim doesn't have a name.

Child Found In Maine Identified As Camden Pierce Hughes



A young boy found dead on a remote Maine road has reportedly been identified as Camden Pierce Hughes, a 6-year-old from Texas.

Juli Mccrery, the child's mother, confessed to Massachusetts State Police that she administered an overdose of medication that killed her son, WBZ-TV reports.

Calls to the Massachusetts State Police were not immediately returned.

After the boy's body was discovered along a rural road in South Berwick, investigators released a computer-generated image of the child and were swamped with hundreds of tips about the boy's possible identity.

Authorities focused their attention on witnesses who said they saw a woman driving a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck near the location where the child was discovered.

According to the station, a Massachusetts state trooper who was aware of the lead pulled over a vehicle that matched the description at an I-495 rest stop in Chelmsford, Mass., on Wednesday morning. The motorist, identified as the victim's mother, reportedly made statements about the boy's death and was taken into protective custody.

Mccrery's ex-boyfriend, Robert Miller, who called himself as "the only dad [Hughes] ever knew," described the child as "a very nice boy ... an innocent boy" who was in the "gifted and talented class in kindergarten."

"All I know is that he's dead and she's in jail," Miller told WBZ-TV. "I don't know why she was even up there."

Obvious, unfortunately. Children don't just turn up dead and unwanted unless their parents killed them. Disgusting.

That poor child! My heart breaks for him but ate least he is safe now, where his Mom can't hurt him. If she's truly remorseful, why did she just dump him and leave him - why not come forward when it happened - why try and hide it?

Thats very sad, hope that kid has some people who care enough to take him in.

cheaps, I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you but it was the boy's body that was found. His mother has been chared with 2nd degree murder.

Now they need to over medicate his mother.

Cause she is a sick woman and she was not remorseful.

It probably wasn't as accidental as she wants everyone to believe.

Exactly, if somebody accidentally dies, you don't hide out and dump the body somewhere, you call the police, an ambulance, somebody to come and verify what happened, properly examine them to make sure that's what happened, to issue a death certificate, you make it official when it's an accident.

ITA! If she was truly remorseful and it was truly an accident, she'd have called 911, rather than dump her child on the side of the road. You don't do that to someone you claim to love. You do all you can to help them. If she'd called 911 right away, they coudl have umped his stomach and he might be alive. Besides, how do you accidently give a kid too much medicine? Unless you can't read? To actually kill him, it has to be a pretty substantial dose, not just an extra spoonful or so.

Exactly, I was wondering that too, HOW do you give them too much medicine? And how fast acting is this medicine that it could kill the child before you can get help? No, the way I see it, either she killed him, or somebody she knew did and she dumped the body to protect an unknown third party.
