I don't know if Chris meant The Boys From Brazil as the "other" cloning tread but that was part of the plot. They were trying to duplicate Hitler's early life as closely as possible even if that meant murder. As if that would be a deal breaker for Nazis. If "you" (literally) were raised in a different environment, you could turn out to be a totally different person.
