Have you ever had to call 911?

I wonder how many people never have to call 911 for anything, there are certainly a lot of morons that call it over the dumbest things, but is there anybody here who's never had to call them for the police or fire department or anything?


We never have.

I've called them where I work when a resident got out of hand.

I called them when I chased a burglar out of my home - classic, yelling "Call 911"

And I called them when my wife overdosed.

Several times. We have seen so many accidents on the road, so that was most of them. One time for a neighbor's fire and another for domestic abuse when I lived in a four plex years ago.

A couple of times. Once a friend and I were coming home from somewhere and it was getting dark. It was early spring, so by 7 or so, it was already dusk. We were heading back to my place when we saw a little girl about 4 years old come skipping along and approach the intersection. As we got closer, we began looking for a parent but didn't see anyone. We thought they might have been at the bus stop. which wasn't too far away. We walked past her, looking around for an adult but didn't see anyone. We looked all around but saw no one in sight that she might have belonged to. Warning bells were going off in my head, as it was a pretty busy intersection and certainly not one that you'd let a little girl about 4 years old any further away than maybe 50 yards. I told my friend we needed to talk to her and find out where she was from so we approached her and realized she was lost. She didn't know her last name or where her Mom was and was looking for her. I had my cell phone with me and I called 911 and they sent a squad car. We never did hear what happened but I spoke to my apartment manager and she thought the girl might have been the granddaughter of one of the tenants. She said the Grandma would often nap while babysitting.

I also called once about a domestic but by the time the cops came, the girl had taken off.

A long time ago, I had a car that was stolen out of the driveway and called 911. That was the only time though.

I have for work, but never personally.

I have had to call 911 numerous times for my Dad to be rushed to the hospital.

Yep. Called them when my little brother walked out of the house when he was 4, another time when he was 8 and we didn't know where he was and another time when someone broke into my house and attempted to rob me at gunpoint.

I called 911 on my dad once when my parents were separated and my dad came over mad about something. My mom wouldn't let him in so he started banging windows & kicking the doors and screaming at the top of his lungs. My mom told me to call 9-11 while she screamed back at him to go away.
