    Have you ever been to a block party? Believe it or not, I haven't. Been to a number of house parties, but never a block celebration.

    I could indeed! Would I want to that is another question. Block parties have lots of little children and tweens that would probably annoy the heck out of me.

    Two ladies had one here about this time last year. It ended up kind of fun getting to know some people that I never had. But overall, it was more a platform for the nosey ones to get all their questions answered.

    My husband tried very hard a couple of times to get an annual "culdesac party" started, but with the intention that the other residents would take turns organizing it. Didn't work. Everyone wants them but only if WE do it, and we're not interested in all the work and expense.

    I'm a native New Yorker, of course. I went to my homeboy's party almost two weeks ago. Cops came thru and shut us down.
