Never really got into it, myself. But then again, I was never into spacey/virtual types of fiction.

Re: Who's a fan of Star Wars?
I was blown away by the movie when I saw it in '77. The special effects were state of the art at the time and the message fit all the new-age awareness in our sub culture.
I had recently gotten back from India where I saw existence of year one (a lot of the biblical writings are descriptive of rural India in the '70s) So, it was a jolt to go to A Universe Far, Far Away with such technology.
Yeah, I was hooked. I had already been a Trekker from Star Trek: TOS so this was just an extension of the fantasy.

Ironically, I love the science aspect of space travel and I'm a fan of NASA...but I've always hate Star Wars and Star Trek. I could just never get into them.

I loved the first. I saw the coming attractions for it about a year earlier and was eager to see it and I wasn't disappointed. After that the facination wore off but I saw it through to the end (on cable) except for Episode I. I've never seen that entire movie.

Re: Who's a fan of Star Wars?
I know the first three word for word. I remember as a child during Empire, there was a cartoon in MAD Magazine about the storm troopers being confused as to why they were wearing white and darth vader was wearing black. White is a good guy color, and they were discussing whether they should paint the uniforms black! lol
