Re: My computer is about to die
My charger died about 2 months ago. Go to Wal-Mart or Radio Shack and get this:
Costs about 80 bucks.

Re: My computer is about to die
You could try to wind the wire (where it connects to the wire) like it's a crank. Sometimes this re-aligns the wires inside the tubing.
But even that's only a temporary fix. You should invest in a universal cord. They sell them at Best Buy.

http://www.amazon.com/Rocketfish-RF-BPRAC3-Universal-Laptop-Adapter/dp/B002ZVHFEG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1310912854&sr=8-4
Look at some of the ones on Amazon and figure out if any of them are compatible with your model.
For instance, you can get this one for 20 dollars.

Re: My computer is about to die
Universal cords can run you from 10 bucks to 120 bucks. You just have to shop around, and don't be afraid to be "used" or "refurb" items from outlet stores. Most of the time, it's just overstock which is considered used.
But always make sure your model *and not just the brand* are compatible with whichever you buy.
What's the model of your laptop?

Re: My computer is about to die
What model, though?
Turn the laptop over when you get home and write down the "product number" or the "model number."
Then report back!

Re: My computer is about to die
I just love gadgets and like seeing them functional. A broken device ruins my day.

The cord I posted is a universal cord. It's compatible with Toshiba laptops....which is what I have also. I don't know how old your laptop is, check to make sure, but I'm sure it will work with yours. The reason mine was $80 from Wal-Mart is because mine is also a USB charger. I can charge my laptop, iPod and pretty much any other USB device that I want to. They come with different connectors for charging different devices. If you don't want a USB charger....you can get the same charger minus the USB for about $20 less. I'd rather buy it brand new than used because I want the warranty. It's worth it to me. You won't have to worry about a charger for a long time and if something goes wrong with it, you get it replaced for free.

Is this your laptop?
Unfortunately, I can't find any info regarding the PSAGBU-0400. Is it also known as the A305, perhaps?

Re: My computer is about to die
I wish I could see the bottom of your laptop.
Try right-clicking on "Computer" and hitting Properties. This should give you a running list of specifications.
It should like RAM, Operating System, etc. It might also list the type of computer you are using. "Toshiba Satellite Pro _________" Or whatever it is.
