Have you ever had to borrow a large (or considerable) amount of money from your parents? If so, did they give it to you easily, and were they sticklers about it being paid back?

If you were ever in a money jam, would your parents be the first place you'd go for help?

Yes we did. A number of years ago my wife was injured off the job and was out of work for a few days over a year. She spoke to my mother in law about her taking a home equity loan. I don't remembed how much we got (it was at least a few thousand) from her but we paid back every cent by basically making the repayments in her name.

I've never borrowed more than $200 (which is considerable to my poor ass), and she didn't mind helping me. Yes i did pay her back over next few paychecks. My ma would be first person to go to.

have borrowed from my mom, to the tune of $4000. She actually tries to give me back the payments, so i have to deposit them in her bank account. the first time she told me i didnt have to pay her back, so i didnt. Then years later she complained to people that i never paid her back. so if i need to borrow again, in her account the money will go!

To answer the question, I borrowed money from my mom and dad for the down payment on my house.
