I hadn't thought much about this for several years, but as a kid, did you have magazines of your own to read?
I had Crayola magazine, and Sesame Street magazines, my mother got her own one of those, it was more of a parenting magazine that came with mine, she never read them but I did, and then several years after that my mother subscribed me to Highlights for Children, I preferred Crayola.
Oh, and we had Zoo Books, my brother had all of them, I had ONE issue about penguins because I loved the movie Scamper the Penguin, and I knew a lot about penguins at 7 years old, but I never read his. And I had an aunt who sent me Ranger Rick, but I didn't care much for them.
How about everyone else?
