| Have you ever pretended to like a friend of your friend (or lover), despite your actually having a blatant distaste for them? | |

| I just don't associate with them. Period. I let my friend know that I don't want to be around them. | |

| I have and it sucks when I really don't like the person. It has happened more than once with people my son's father knows. | |

| Yes! In fact, one of my friends ~ who is MUCH more sociable than I am ~ has one in her circle that I absolutely cannot stand. I have turned down invitations because of that person (she is very loud and hyper, so she's unavoidable).
And as I get older it gets harder and harder to "pretend".

| Unfortunately, yes.
And I've been in plenty situations where my friends aren't liked.

| I don't have the patience. I'm not to good at acting.
This weekend I went to a family function and my cousin showed up, dragging her loser BF and his friends along. What for, I don't know, cuz no one likes him.
She left early, pissed off at me because I refused to go around him or acknowledge his presence. And his friends were guilty by association--I'll be damned if they were gonna eat one of my burger patties.
I can let it go if I just didn't vibe with the person or agree with their views or how they conduct themselves, but he's threatened me, her, and a few family members that were in attendance, so he's dead to me anyway.

| No I think at best I can just pretend to be civil. If I have a problem with a friend of a friend, then I will just avoid being around them whenever I can. | |
