Not a necessity, but I did like having it. I can have fries without it, it's just better with it. UNLESS the fries are so good, that they don't need ketchup. They do exist.

For the most part....but I can eat them naked, with mustard, or just about any other dipping sauce if ketchup isn't around.

Only if it's the big crinkle fries which I don't eat anymore, the skinny fries I just salt and they're good to go.

Only McDonald fries I can eat without ketchup. I usually have ketchup or ranch as a dipping sauce for my fries.

Im with cheaps... McD's fries without... anyone else's gets BBQ sauce not ketchup

So long as they're properly seasoned, ketchup isn't a necessity for fries to me.

Salt is about the only requirement I have re fries. Except if I splash on Tabasco
