I've known someone who never let their kid learn from his mistakes, i.e. suffer the consequences. I don't think we've ever said anything.

The ones whose kids are SO precious they can't ever be corrected or told no and they would NEVER do anything wrong, all the bad stuff that occurs when they're around is somebody else's fault. We had to live across the street from one of those monsters for 17 years.

I think people have to raise their kids the way they see fit but don't care for the parents who want to be their kids best buddy. Sometimes being a parent means knowing & using the word "no" as well as handing down some punishment now & then. Being grounded or temporarily losing the use of a prized possession can be an eye opener.

I don't like the bff attitude toward kids, but I don't see that too often. What really irks me is parents who bill their lying kids as being creative with good imaginations. Ugh.
