Do you think that the law, police, and society in general, ever goes too far in using the so-called 'well being' of children as a tool to repress or scrutinize people?

    Most definitely.

The general population seems to have no memory of childhood and just how resilient kids actually are to any number of things that they deem harmful.

Being a nudist is a good example. Kids in nudist families are not harmed by seeing naked ppl, yet that is always the excuse for hiding nudity from kids. And yet they go to an art museum ... and survive unscathed.

Likewise, all that stupidity around Janet Jackson's boob being exposed on the appropriately named boob tube. Totally ridiculous. There was no harm done to anyone, yet it was proposed that kids could have been exposed to a body part THAT WAS MADE FOR KIDS.

We use our kids to justify government stepping in and making absurd regulations for food and education. Heck, we use the "wellbeing" of kids as an excuse to do just about everything. Putting them in proven deficient schools is for their "wellbeing" cause they have to "socialize." (At the expense of their education.)

Of course, when it comes down to it, society doesn't care about the kids. We just like to talk about it. We aren't tough enough to do things that really benefit them. So instead, we'll do things that hurt them and just pretend that it's gonna help them.

Yes and no. It really rings true for some cases.

There are "nanny" laws for all ages. Some are good ideas. Some aren't.
