Flowers in the Attic (1987) Empty
PostSubject: Flowers in the Attic (1987)   Flowers in the Attic (1987) EmptySun Aug 14, 2011 2:19 am

We've had some discussion before about the book but has anybody here seen the movie Flowers in the Attic with Kristy Swanson and Louise Fletcher? Great movie, mother and grandmother perfect bitches. The trailer is actually very misleading because it sounds like they've come to like, a haunted house and the grandmother's crazy and going to kill them all, not like poisoning them but like bitch gone crazy gonna stab them all or something like that. But the trailer's good because it draws you in and makes you interested. GREAT ending!

I never saw it all the way through to end. From what I do remember, it was a weird movie.

I actually stole the books from my sister LOL and read them I think there are 3 in the series. I saw the movie a few years ago and it pretty much sucked compared to the books.

When i originally saw the movies in the 80s, thought it was good.... didnt age well. Now there are just too many questions. I mean she married her uncle? which one? and if so, why didnt he have as much money as the rest of the family? why was she left penniless when she married into her own rich family? The grandmother was shocked that she was killing the kids? REALLY? what did the grandmother think? they would be locked up there forever? So for 18yrs, the grandfather NEVER knew that she had kids with the uncle???? really??? just an unbelievable story. I mean they show the graves are already dug on the property but the grandmother didnt know??? Victoria Tennent didnt have any money yet, why would the house maids/hands listen to her????

I never thought of that...I don't know, maybe the uncle hadn't come into his part of the money yet and was cut off when he married her. And yeah I really don't believe that the mother was the only one pulling the strings, I think the grandmother was a lot more involved than she pretended, although I always wondered why at the end Cathy figured the grandmother was waiting for her to come back someday.
