| Are you a fan of having a lawn/garden, or do you consider it an unneeded hassle? | |

| It can be. If you don't want to upkeep one, then don't have one. | |

| A garden for us is a necessity because that's a lot of our food for the winter, green beans, potatoes, the tomatoes usually last until Christmas, sweet potatoes, peaches for pies, etc.
A lawn...well it sure beats the alternative of just having 4 squares of mud everytime it rains.

| I live in an apartment, so gardening is a non-issue for me. Someday, though, I would like to own a home with a large lawn and garden. Sure. | |

| I think it's great to have a yard if you have children--gives them some place to play other than always in the house. The older they get, though, the less they seem to use the yard, so I think at that point, it starts to become a non-issue, and either downsizing or not having one at all is a good thought.
I have a fairly large yard, pool, swingset and trampoline, and while all of it got used quite a bit when my daughter was younger, all that's really used now is the pool, and that's even more infrequent than in the past. I'm at the age now, where it's getting to become a physical chore to keep up on the maintenace, and I can't forsee myself staying in my present home forever, just for the fact that it's getting to be too much to take care of.

| A well landscaped home can add +$ to the resale value. Living in an apartment though, it's nice not to have to maintain one. | |
