    The Debt Empty The Debt

Do you think you can tolerate Helen Mirren wearing a scare across the side of her face.

A gripping and satisfying political thriller, with an exceptional cast. Actually, the film uses two separate cast playing the same three characters some 30 years apart. A film about how prior beliefs can shape the future, and build heroes.

In 1966 three young Israeli agents (see below) are connected to the infamous Mossad. Their mission is to capture the notorious Dieter Vogel ( a chilling Jesper Christensen) aka the Surgeon of Birkenau, and return him to Israel for trial. However, a bungled assignment emerges into a 30 year concealed pack.

Thirty years later, we learn Vogel is still alive, and the elder three (see below) must fix the situation, or be exposed, and lose their hero status.

Some may squabble about a thriller that spends about half the time in a East Berlin apartment. However, this is one very good film, which misses a few beats from being a great film. Previous made in Israeli as "Ha-Hov"

Rachel: Helen Mirren and Jessica Chastain
Stephan: Tom Wilkinson and Marton Csokas
David: Ciaran Hinds and Sam Worthington
