Do you think that public schools should sponsor social clubs?

Many public schools have clubs that meet at the school, sometimes during class time and sometimes after school. Do you think it is generally appropriate for schools which are funded by tax money to sponsor such activities?

What do u mean by social clubs? If a club uses the school building for meetings.....that doesn't mean that they ate sponsoring them. It just means they are using the building.

Why not. If it will make the kids socialize more as opposed to running home and staying in the house with their computers and iphones.

Oh, I guess he meant that. Like FBLA and all those little clubs that were there when I was in high school. I don't see a problem with those at all.

I was a member of KEY Club International for high school students. It was sponsored by kiwanis clubs to promote community service-- thought it was great and introduced us to political structures and procedures too. We were in charge of a $3 million state budget to divide amongst charities. Was awesome and we stayed out of trouble while doing a lot of good!
