A "friend" I had that I trusted really pulled the wool over my eyes. She seemed to be one of the most positive-thinking individuals I knew. Turned out she was just info seeking and would stab a person in the back as fast as they turned around.

Giving people the benefit of the doubt and completely trusting someone that stabbed me in back are two different things. I can't remember the last time someone stabbed me in the back. I've given people the benefit of the doubt quite a few times that turned out to be a mistake.
