Re: Spiders & centipedes
I don't have a basement, but I definetely have spiders in the garage and sometimes in the house. They are usually small harmless spiders that don't really bother me. But every now and again I'll find a black widow and those definetely have to die! Never seen a centipede though. I'd probably freak out if I saw something like that. Those things are scary!

Re: Spiders & centipedes
We have spiders, crickets and for some reason this year flies in the basement, centipedes are out in the garden on rare occasion.

Re: Spiders & centipedes
I see the occasional centipede, but not a whole lot. Spiders, though, inhabit my basements storage room..

Re: Spiders & centipedes
Just so we know, this is a centipede (some of which have poisonous bites)
And this is a millipede, like the ones that used to be in my basement in St. Louis
They were little and brown and I used to let them crawl on my hand. They gave off a scent, which is their defense.

Re: Spiders & centipedes
Centipedes, millipedes, either way I don't want to be anywhere near those things, I've always hated them, and like Shale pointed out, with some of the centipedes being poisonous, you don't want to take a chance on being bitten by them.
