Previews for the week of 19-Sep-2011
by Carol Banks Weber
- Jack puts his lying skills to good use, in his mind. He effectively shuts the jail door on Todd Manning by concocting a tall tale.
- Dani relays to Téa what Jack said to the cops propagating that Todd Manning killed Victor. This makes Téa feel all kinds of dread.
- Téa takes Jack’s story as a work of fiction.
- Jack stands before his dad Victor – laid to rest – and confesses that he did what he had to do to put Todd in jail, even if it means twisting the truth a bit.
- Roles reverse, as Shane makes a good effort at bullying a vulnerable Jack.
- Shane sidles up to Jack and talks around the subject of losing a parent violently, feigning compassion.
- Shane says what’s in his heart at the place where his mom Gigi was laid to rest, including his belief that Jack’s lying through his teeth to stick it to Todd.
- It seems Todd may require Téa’s services for real.
- Dani goes to see what the original – and now jailbird – Todd Manning fuss is all about.
- Dani also has to contend with Irene sitting pretty next to Todd in matching jail cells.
- Todd tries to usher Dani out of the jail area the second Irene sets her sights on her granddaughter.
- When Téa gets word that Dani went to jail to speak with Todd, she disapproves.
- John tries to get the story straight from Irene, but that’s a losing proposition.
- Tomas tends to a wounded, bereft Téa. For starters, he says he’s so very sorry for not making it to Victor’s memorial service.
- Todd and Irene do not mix well.
- News of her father Todd’s jailbird status reaches Starr.
- Jack remains adamant that what he said to the cops was the right stuff.
- Irene and Todd become jailed neighbors.
- Irene is quick to show her hand to Todd: she made Louie and that saving gun disappear, and can make them reappear if he does her a favor.
- Starr sics Blair on Jack before his lies do more damage to her precious daddy Todd.
- Looking around dazedly, Cutter feels blind panic. Where’s the damned gun, Morris?
- Cutter goes directly to Kim about the gun.
- Of course, Kim has the gun. She’s trying to milk Rex’s millions via Echo. The millions are for her hospitalized buddy.
- Doesn’t matter what Rex says, Echo smells some BS.
- Roxy loses her mind after hearing that Kim got a hold of Rex’s gun.
- Echo presses Rex to return the fortune and power to his father, Clint.
- Echo gives serious consideration to faking Rex’s signature.
- Blair finagles a way to get inside Jack’s head and get him to get real about the facts of that night’s occurrence.
- Blair means to be loyal to her son Jack, come what may.
- Blair and Téa discuss what’s been going on with troubled Jack.
- Blair reports back to Starr about Jack, but it’s not what Starr wants to hear. Blair intends to be there for her son, whether she agrees with what he may be doing or not.
- Téa possesses the last of Victor’s stuff. If she cared to, she could dig right on in and pull out John’s true paternity reveal.
- Baz shows signs of evil, as he maneuvers to give Rick production value at Starr’s first hit.
- Starr caves over James’ mild objections. Rick gets to make her first hit.
- John hashes out some things about Victor’s murder with Bo. Some things don’t sit well with John regarding Jack’s testimony.
- Instead, John and Bo go over other possibilities when Rex comes up.
- John focuses on Rex as the likely suspect of Victor’s murder when Bo shakes his head.
- Ah, but there is another… John brings up one more other suspect, a seemingly least likely one.
- Someone else comes calling on Todd behind bars, someone he least imagined seeing.
- As far as Brody is concerned, he can rest easy now that Todd Manning is behind bars. Brody tries to enjoy (what little time he has left) with his borrowed brood.
- Brody tries to make an honest woman of Natalie, with an official proposal.
- Natalie’s response to Brody’s marriage proposal throws him off. Sounds like she puts him off.
- Roxy picks John’s brain as to where he stands with Natalie, and whether he’s willing to grow up and accept the woman he loves—warts and all.
- Unfortunately, Roxy’s sense of timing sucks as she’s nagging John at Rodi’s bar where all he wants to do is forget his troubles with some beers.
- Roxy pushes and probes until John snaps, out loud, that he isn’t in love anymore with Natalie, just as Natalie herself stands nearby.
- After Natalie makes her sad exit, Roxy calls John out on his BS.
- John puts his attention back on his liquor, resuming the forgetting.
- Jessica drops by to hand back Brody’s medal.
- Jessica and Brody recall how happy they used to be once.
- When Brody breaks it to Jessica that he asked Natalie to be his wife next, she’s bummed.
- Jessica flees into the arms of Ford, to forget Brody.
- Natalie agrees to be Brody’s wife, as a rebound. But Brody doesn’t know that.
- Natalie takes Rex aside to extrapolate on marrying Brody, with John in her recent past.
- It’s clear to Bo how much John’s still hung up on Natalie. The man is getting tanked over her, after all.
- Bo tries to get through to John about Natalie.
- A dream tries to infiltrate Natalie’s mind with an intuitive clue to Liam’s paternity: John’s the father, you idiot!
- Armed with the premonition dream, Natalie seeks John out.
- Kim talks out her latest get-rich scheme with Stacy—I mean, this unnamed person on that hospital bed. Kim brings up Rex’s gun and what she intends to do with it.
- Kim’s jig – with mysterious convalescent pal in that Kentucky hospital room – seems up for one other character, who stumbles on the situation.
- Rex is no match for Kim, who manages to prevent him from viewing the contents of her hospital room.
- While Rex runs up against a stone wall in his endeavor to see who Kim’s got holed up in that hospital, Cutter has no such problems.
- Kim tries to seal Cutter’s lips by prevailing on him as her brother to let her see this scheme through.
- Bobby, James, and Nate commiserate about women in their lives.
- James and Starr get to be cozy and lovey-dovey.
- Nate and Dani renew what made them a couple in the first place, because he’s kind to her in her hour of need.
- Next week: Irene indicates she won’t stop until she controls everything going on with all her children, including their children… Todd bristles at the sight of Irene bossing him around… Téa gives Todd some heat. Will she give him the time of day?... A pivotal character (Tina with her little dog) visits to change everything… Hi, Cord! Clint’s happy to see his son back in town… Clint automatically finds himself championing the one young man he used to loathe, his long-lost son Rex… Todd puts his daughter Starr at legal risk, but he’s desperate for her to do something for him… Starr is tempted to break some laws to make it easy on Todd… A sliver of memory gives Shane a jolt… Jessica and Natalie’s argument disintegrates into a full-blown Bad Girls Club brawl… Viki tries to get to the bottom of Natalie’s thing with John.
