I had a few problems with my old car....but I don't remember it breaking down on me at any inopportune times.

Yes. My first car behaved like that the last year that I had it. It would break down at lights, in the middle of streets, in line at the bank, you name it. I was constantly embarrassed and stressed out over that piece of junk.

Several times on highways but never an interstate, thank The Man. Once was in Spokane, a long ways from home, but AAA took care of us.

Oh yeah, plenty of times the old Honda gave out on me. It especially loved to go out at a particular stop light not too far from home. It was like it knew where it was and decided to stall out EACH AND EVERY TIME I CAUGHT THAT RED LIGHT.
And I thought I paid my dues once I got my new car, but nooooo, I ran over a pothole once on the highway and was stuck in dead space between oncoming highway traffic and people merging from a ramp. Not cool.
