Or maybe a better question, how is your work ethic for when you're off work and it's more like stuff around the house that needs doing?


My mother once said I have no work ethic, and compared to her I don't; she thinks if it's a nice day, we must spend all day working in the yard, or if it's not a nice day, we should clean the whole house, it's like 'let's mow the front yard, let's weed the garden, let's pick the green beans, let's sort through everything in the basement, let's get the living room picked up, let's can tomatoes, etc', and I'm like ' ' you know, do the dishes, do the laundry, if the bathroom's getting messy, clean it up, anything that NEEDS to be done in the near future yes, but I have better things to do than waste all of my day cleaning a house that's just going to be dirty again tomorrow. I'm more like if there isn't anything hanging right over our heads, then relax and do something enjoyable.

I do that suff when it needs to be done, no set schedule. If I want to skip it and go out for the day instead I will.

I live alone and can do just that. Trouble is I will end up going out for a day 30 times in a row and next thing you know my room really needs to be vacuumed.

I tend to be a little of both. I can be as anal about getting things done now as I can be lazy. I am very self-contradicting.

But where I live, unless you don't mind doing outdoor necessities in the rain, then we have to make time for them in our short summer seasons. And I hate being outside when it rains.

I do what's pertinent.

I don't think that has anything to do with your work ethic. I have a great work ethic, but I'm not a slave to my house. It's called priorities. If I get spread thin, something has to suffer. It's not going to be my children, husband, pets, or me that suffers. The cobwebs and dustbunnies will still be there tomorrow. Having a spotless house/yard has never been a goal of mine.

I can procrastinate A LOT!
