Growing up, Dad really never thought I could do much. No matter how old I get, he seems to think I am an ignorant buffoon.

I asked him to borrow his truck this weekend to drive to the gas station as I could not take our truck because it was in use for a job my guy was doing for Dad.

Anyway, Dad asked me, his 35 year-old daughter, if I knew how to put gas in a truck. He wanted me to gas up his truck for him, but he wasn't sure I knew how. I am just blown away at the fact that he thinks I just get by day to day with minimal general knowledge. I would never think that of my son or step-daughter. When they don't understand something, I make sure they do.

Ugh.

My folks know I'm totally sufficient. They don't worry about me.

I'm sure my mom does sometimes.

My Father knows I am very sufficient.

I have a peculiar relationship with my parents. They know that I totally sufficient, yet they second guess me a lot. It has always been this way, ever since I was a kid.

My father thinks I know what I'm doing.
