I think the first recast I recall was Nicholas Walker playing Max Holden after James DePaiva left.

I am recalling when Dorian was replaced with Clair Malis and then Elaine Princi.

I started watching in 1993, and I recall a number of recasts from around the same period...there was Nathan Fillion playing Joey after Chris McKenna, Krista Tesreau playing Tina after Karen Witter and Jack Armstrong as Kevin after Kirk Geiger.

I think my first was Nicholas Walker as Max Holden too. I remember Max got into a horrific car accident as JdP and they all thought he was dead and had a funeral for him and at the same time he was somewhere laid up in seclusion completely bandaged up away. A few weeks later, the gauze came off and he was NW.
