Depends on their culture and beliefs. If they were like Muslim or Christian fanatics who want to push their beliefs on us by force then no - we got enuf of those fuckheads on this planet.
If they followed the Prime Directive, then yeah come join the party.
The whole extraterrestrial alien is just a metaphor for what we already experience on this planet with "aliens" of another language, nation, culture or race and how we deal with it.
Now are we talking humanoid aliens, who look like us and are at least similar in biology, or are we talking a whole different species of plant/animal/whatever?
Will they be able to naturalize and become citizens?
Will we need to provide special accommodations?
If they followed the Prime Directive, then yeah come join the party.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff we would have to know, what are they like? What are their plans? What is their opinion about us? What would their reaction be to coming here? Do they plan to kill and enslave us and take the world over for themselves? Etc., there are a lot of potential questions that would have to be answered first, what is their ulterior motive?

I'm inclined to say "probably not". Because I doubt that alien life forms have similar physiological and elemental makeup to ours. Hell, earthlings have had trouble co-exisitng since Man began!
