Just an update (tho no one on this board seems interested in this worldwide uprising against the exploitation of the 99% by the 1%)
On the Hip Forum where the activists are more vocal, there is a report that they are camped out in London (same as in NY). Of course this weekend there were the more passionate violent confrontations in some parts of Europe.
Of the 1K that formed the rally in Miami, about a hundred camped out at the Gov't Center Saturday night and were there on Sunday. I haven't heard if they are still there this workday or if the cops are harassing them (Homeless ppl usually try to stay in that area of downtown). If they are still camping in Miami they are dedicated ppl because we are in a tropical weather pattern and it rained all night and will continue for the next couple of days.
It is good to see young ppl getting motivated behind a cause. We had ours when we were young, racism, homophobia, the evil war of our design. Now as the economy is collapsing and the 1% of extremely rich are getting richer on the backs of the 99%, young ppl have a cause to get involved in something. (Especially seeing what the ppl did in Egypt and are still doing in Libya - toppling old style regimes with an unorganized mass with the common objective of ENUF ALREADY!
Who knows where this will end? Maybe not a direct cause of anything but indirectly the masses are sending a message that we are fed up with the exploitation.
