This is one of those movies that seeing it once or twice a year feels like enough, but you always go back to it, it may not be as scary now as it was in the 60s but it's still a very creepy movie. I like Julie Harris in this, for some reason she still reminds me a bit of Frankie from The Member of the Wedding in that she's the outsider, she doesn't fit in, people don't take her seriously, and also that she's prone to having violent verbal outbursts at those around her.
The fact that you never see what is causing all the trouble in Hill House, I think that's particularly scary, you only hear things and near the end the doors bend, very creepy stuff.
Anybody else seen this one?
