| The original Footloose is on HBO this month; I'm watching it now. Did you ever see it? | |

| Of course! I am anxious to hear what people think about the remake. | |

| I have 2 copies of it, love that movie, would've loved to see somebody punch Wes's teeth out though. | |

| I never saw the original, but the concept always seemed too campy, silly and farfetched to me. The WHOLE town outlawed dancing? Seriously? Then some stary-eyed, hyperactive, petulant brat who was good underneath his defiant attitude swoops in and saves everyone's souls with his untamable dancing feet. Yeah... | |

Marc, I am a very dull movie watcher, but the theme/message of the film does transcend the attitude of just the dancing. I looked at it as some kid coming in and having larger ideas than those sheltered kids did and exposing them to something else. So, while it may be campy, it isn't bad. | |

| And it's based partly on fact. Bomont was based on a real town that had outlawed dancing for I think 180 years and then FINALLY abolished that law, thank God, but what took them so long is what I want to know. | |

| It was good when I was young, but now I really don't care for it. I also feel this way about Dirty Dancing and Grease too. Movies just don't appeal to me much anymore. | |
