The horror:
Looks like crap to me, and I'm guessing we can already figure out exactly how the story's going to go so why should anybody waste their $10 on a Step Up knockoff cashing in on a classic's name?

I think I'll save my $6.50 and skip Footloose/Step up 4.

I think Hollywood has run out of ideas.

Well we've known that for a long time. I mean let's face it, did they really think Friday the 13th needed to be rebooted because they could tell the story SO much better a second time around after what, 10 sequels in the first series? No, it's because the name sells and people will see it.

I plan to see it. I like teen focused dance movies, can relate to the angst after all these years and usually enjoy them.
I'll probably watch the original before going to the theater. Not to compare so much as to see the differences. Y'know things have changed in dance and style since Kevin Bacon was a boy.

I hear it's getting good reviews, but I'm in no rush to see the reboot.

I will wait for Redbox to have it, but can't wait to see it. A couple years ago, we went to a high school production of Footloose and it was actually very kick ass. So, I am excited to see the film remake.

Well, I'll step up to be The Oddball here (won't be the last, I'm sure). But, based on the trailer, I'm sure I would like this version better than the first. I didn't like the original "Footloose" at all.

I just watched the original last night in prep for seeing the remake this Friday.
It was an OK movie, sort of innovative at the time and probably launched Kevin Bacon's career. The most experienced actor was John Lithgow (His first time playing a prig of a fundamentalist country preacher - in Kinsey he had the same role as Alfred's father.)
But the original is now dated. The story BTW was not far fetched. There really were backwater towns out west and in the south that banned public dancing. When I was a kid there were a lot of Baptists who saw dancing as a sin. (My excuse for not being able to dance) I have watched every dance movie there is tho - I love watching what the human body is capable of doing in dance and gymnastics.
So, my $7.50 recreation money this weekend will go to Footloose

The clips I've seen here and there don't look as cheesy as the original.

Good reviews, bad reviews, I don't plan on seeing this...EVER
I've watched the original quite a few times when I was younger, good enough for me.
