Do you cook or drink with hot water directly from the tap? You shouldn't. Even if your house has more modern plumbing, there's still a good chance there's even a small percentage of lead somewhere and hot water can leach it out of the pipes.

We don't drink tap water and reverse osmosis has no temperature tap.

That's a really good thing to know. I think I have used hot tap water with hot chocolate packets before.
