Until now all attempts to develop a male pill have failed with scientists working on a contraceptive jab for men given by doctors.

But researchers in Israel have finally been able to create a oral pill that deactivates sperm before they reach the womb.

And theyve developed a version that means it only needs to be to be taken once every three months.

The breakthrough pill could be available in as little as three years, according to the scientist behind the discovery

Unlike the jab form of the male pill it doesnt use a combination of the male hormone testosterone and the female hormone progesterone to block pregnancy.

The scientist behind the male pill discovery has developed a tablet that removes a vital protein in sperm that is required for a woman to conceive.
So while sperm still get through to the uterus they are unable to fertilise an egg.

Using this approach, researchers believe they have a pill that is 100 pc effective at stopping pregnancy.

Wow. The landscape is about to change big time. This won't stunt reckless behavior, but it will stunt unwanted pregnancies, especially for rich men and their "snag a man"-minded flock.

Yeah really. I hope this product is mostly used by guys in COMMITTED relationships, otherwise it's a pretty dumb alternative.

This sounds about as stupid as the female condom. Give men license to not wrap it up and the fallout won't be good.

I'm with everybody here. A male "pill" is almost a slap in the face to more significant condom.

Hope they make it in geltabs.

Hmmm. I'm a person who is all for science, but sometimes the question arises as to when scientists should just leave shit alone. On one hand, I can see the benefit of a male birth control pill.....there are females out here who can get you hemmed up and they will lie and say they're on birth control when they really aren't and trap you with a kid. So if you can control that for certain from your aspect without getting snipped, then it works. On the other hand, I would truly hope it doesn't make people feel like they don't need use condoms. And I'm willing to bet it would be more of the latter.

NFL players are gonna buy stock in that company. But seriously they should be trying to come up with an all inclusive pill that works as a contraceptive and a STD combatant.

Men are very proud of their sperm's ability to do its job. Even if they're
just going inside a condom that's to be disposed, I think we feel good knowing our little
guys could work if needed. This would take a while to catch on, I don't
know how men feel about something disabling their boys.

Sounds stupid if you ask me. No way am I gonna take a pill to make me stop working properly. To me, it's about as ridiculous as taking a pill to irregulate my heartbeat.

That's kind of true. Even if I had five kids, I couldn't imagine sterilizing myself. If I were married, and didn't want anymore kids, though, I could see myself perhaps trying this male pill thing out as an alternative to having to use condoms or having a vasectomy. I wonder what the side effects are.
