I got rid of all my guns years ago, but when I was in the service I collected them. Had a Ruger .44 magnum, several other automatic pistols, rifles and some cap & ball black powder guns. I kept the flintlock replica but finally gave it to my grandson.
IDK if he ever went to the trouble of getting powder and the balls to fire the thing.
I may get another utilitarian gun some day, not a collector's item.

We don't have any guns in our home, if my roommates decided to get one, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Only for a good reason. Like you're a cop and it's part of your uniform, or if the area is prone to getting robbed. Otherwise I don't want one around just because it's an option.
