    What color eggs do you prefer: white or brown? Has anyone ever actually had a brown egg? I haven't.

    Brown eggs come from normal chickens, the white eggs come from chickens kept in 'hothouses' of sorts and are never out in the sunlight. We get brown eggs from some of the local chicken farmers when the hens are laying, but for just baking and stuff we generally use store eggs.

    I've never had a brown egg either. I've always had white.

    Is there any kind of taste difference?

    Never had a brown egg only the white ones.

    Other than shell color there is no difference. White eggs tend to come from white chickens and brown from darker chickens like the Rhode Island Red.

    I get white because that is the most common commercial eggs. The brown are available in the supermarket but cost more.
