No. I watched a couple of them dwindle but not when they took their last breath. One of them was a co-worker with cancer who plugged along and worked until 3 days before she died. I knew she was dying when her eyes became yellow and her ankles swelled. Her body was shutting down but she worked that way for weeks. Brave.

When I was a staff nurse,I've seen it many times. It's never good, but working in a hospital, you have to get past it quickly and move on.

I have seen several ppl die in my capacity as a caregiver. Some undergoing a full code blue, and some just passing as the family was around them.
With two of them, I was holding their hand at the moment of their passing and one went so silently that I didn't know the exact moment he had died.
Sort of comforting to know that one can go that serenely.

I saw a young man die on the street when he ran his skate board into an oncoming car. I will never forget it.
The only other deaths I have witnessed is when I took my aged kitties to be euthanized when they became very ill and had only pain to look forward to.

I had a woman die while I was drawing her blood and still had the needle in her arm, back in my phlebotomist days in the Emergency Room. Other than that, just cats when I've had to put them down.
