    What time do you think a ten year old should go to bed on school nights, and on weekends or during the summer?

    On school nights. 9PM. On weekends and in the summer when my son stayed with me he could stay up as long as he wanted. He couldn't be outside though.

    For school nights, 10:30, weekends, as late as they want. That's what we did.

    I think 9 is good for school nights and stay up however late on weekends. This is how it was for me when I was 10.

    From late elementary school throughout middle school, my bedtime on school nights was always 10:00. Once I got into high school, I no longer had a "bedtime" and it was up to me to make sure I had my ass out of bed in time for school. So I would say for a 10 year old curfew is when the street lights come on and bedtime is 10pm. That gives him/her at least 8-9 hours of good rest before school the next morning.

    I'll go with 9. Weekends can stretch to 10. Depends on the child, though. Mine was ADD, and because she could be exhausting to the rest of us, I didn't let her stay up late. She was a 'crash 'n' burn' type.

    I think my bedtime was 9pm when I was that age. I didn't get 10pm until high school.

    My twins are 11 y/o and their bedtime has been loosely 9 o'clock since they were about 6. These days they hardly ever go to bed on time, but 9 pm is supposed to be the "rule".
