Yes and No. I drink cause it does taste good to me, and I love the buzz it gives me as well.

I prob. wouldn't. Alcohol in general just doesn't taste good. You gotta mix it with something to get rid of the bitterness. You actually tolerate drinking it because you know the after effects from doing so. I like getting drunk sometimes.

I haven't been drunk in decades. I do like a slight feeling of relaxation a little alcohol gives, but stop before getting a buzz from it.
That's why I buy a brand of red wine that only has 11% alcohol as opposed to the norm of 12-13%
I love the red wine, so I can drink more of it without the intoxicating effects. And that 1-2% difference is quite noticeable when I drink the same amount of other wines.
So, yeah, if the red wine would taste EXACTLY like it does now, I would probably enjoy drinking it - perhaps more than the 2 glasses I now have.
However, I think they have found that a little alcohol does lower cholesterol, so I may still want the real stuff for that. Y'know it ain't no joke that my red wine with anti-oxidants is medicine.

Some of it tastes good on its own but no, it's the BUZZ that compels you.

Sometimes a cold tasty beer doesn't need to give me a buzz. And wine. . I like how it relaxes but it's cardiac benefits still make it worth it.

Which reminds me, one of these days I'm going to have to get around to trying a bottle of plain red wine.

I would still drink margaritas and pina coladas. But as for all the other kinds, probably not.

Some sweet liquors I may still mess with. Hard liquor, nope. If I'm not gonna get that lovely consequence that I'm after, then forget it.

LOL, I guess so! I actually prefer virgin pina colada to alcoholic. I have only ever had one good one and that was in Mexico.
