I was so surprised to learn about the drugs and women. It was disappointing.

Why was that surprising? That's been known forever. Anyway, it doesn't taint the legacy or talent of Ray Charles. Just about everyone who is legendary in some way has battled demons. He wasn't the first and he damn sure won't be the last. Anyway, I've seen Ray. Jaime Foxx was born to do that role. I really love Regina King in that movie too.

I thought it was an excellent movie and Foxx deserved his Oscar. I didn't know anything about his life, so it was a surprise to learn that he often was not a nice guy. It was an eye-opener to learn his strengths and weaknesses. Love the man's music, though.

I really didn't know much about him prior to seeing the movie. I knew some about his musical achievements but had no idea his personal life was so messed up.
